Why we exist

Twenty years of watching the same thing go wrong.

Employees receive a benefits packet full of terms nobody explained: deductible, coinsurance, elimination period, guaranteed issue. They pick whatever the person next to them picked, or they pick nothing. Then a claim happens and they discover what they actually enrolled in.

Large national enrollment firms can staff the work, but they arrive with rigid minimums, scripted counselors, and a call-center feel. Small agencies care more but cannot scale a bilingual bench. Arsenal Benefits Group was built for the space between: boutique attention, real insurance backgrounds, and genuine fluency in both English and Spanish.

Twenty years in this industry taught me one thing: employees don't need more paperwork, they need someone to sit with them and explain it in a language they actually understand.

Founder

Iazir Ortiz has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and employee benefits industry. Her background includes supporting employees and employers through benefit enrollment, providing bilingual assistance in English and Spanish, and working across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit products. She founded Arsenal Benefits Group to improve the enrollment experience by ensuring employees receive clear information and meaningful support when making benefit decisions.

Silvana Botero

Benefit Counselor Lead

Silvana Botero supports the coordination of benefit counselor activities and helps ensure enrollment support is delivered consistently and professionally. She works closely with counselors and clients to promote clear communication and a respectful, supportive enrollment experience for employees.

Erick Ramirez

Technology and Operations

Erick Ramirez brings more than 15 years of professional experience in media, streaming distribution, technology, and strategic partnerships. He supports Arsenal Benefits Group with technology, operational processes, and digital experiences that help the company deliver organized and efficient benefit enrollment support.

Behind the leadership team is a growing network of benefit counselors we recruit, vet, and train ourselves. They are the reason we can staff a multi-site enrollment without turning into a call center, and the reason quality does not depend on which counselor happens to be in the room.
